The Subway Hypnotist
How did I earn the nickname “The Subway
Hypnotist”?
In June 2000, the producers of the TV program “Subway Q&A”, airing on a
few cable station in the New York Metropolitan area, contacted me. I was asked to
demonstrate Hypnosis in the subway! You see, this program uses the New York subway as a
back drop for their show. Not knowing what to expect I agreed. On the morning
of the 15th a crew of 3 cameramen, a sound technician, the producer,
the host and an assistant picked me up and we headed underground to the subway
station at Grand Central. The host, the producer and the assistant targeted
people randomly and volunteered me to conduct impromptu hypnosis sessions. The
one that ended up on the air was a “Smoking
Cessation” session with a young tourist female who
was amused by the prospect of being hypnotized. We proceeded to the side of the
platform where a large metal box was used as a “Hypnotic Chair”. Throughout the session the subway trains where roaring by with
deafening noise. So much so that I could not hear my own voice. A crowd of
spectators was watching intently.
This was by far the weirdest hypnosis session I ever
conducted. What an experience. You may judge for yourself. To watch this video
